Sundays February 21st, 28th & March 7th from 10 am -12 pm
Learn to knit your first pair of socks with a small group. You will have loads of support and a experienced teacher in Diane Richer to answer all your questions.
You will learn techniques for knitting 2 socks at the same time and in the round, ribbing, working a heel flap and gusset and the Kitchener stitch.
These socks will be made cuff down and will be using a fingering weight yarn. Fingering weight yarn is the traditional weight for socks and to make a pair you need 1 ball of 100 gram fingering weight yarn. It is best to choose yarn with some nylon in the blend. The nylon makes the wool last longer and not wear through at the heels.
Material list will be emailed to you after you register.
We will have a number of yarn choices and colours available at the shop.
This will be a small class of 5 people with everyone sitting separately and well distanced and wearing masks.
