Sunday August 18th from 9 am to 4 pm (weather dependant) we are having a Fibre Fun Day Camp for adults right here in my backyard on the Black River!
We will be working with dye and experimenting on fingering weight knitted blanks. These blanks are great for creating an ombre effect or self stripping yarns that can be then used in shawls, or socks. Each blank contains 420 meters of fingering/sock yarn.
Learn a bit about wet felting by making colourful designs to felt around a bar of handmade soap.
In the afternoon we will play with needle felting and create fun little creatures, birds or whatever your imagination can come up with.
All materials will be provided for each activity.
It will be relatively shaded with our big trees🌲and our deck gazebo, but it is always a good idea to have sunscreen available. Please bring along a camp chair if you have one. We have 4 here but not enough for everyone.
Wear clothing that you aren't going to be concerned with if you get a bit of dye on them. Aprons can be a good thing to bring along for the dyeing activity.
We are very lucky to not have any real issues with bugs 🦟 but they are here so if you are bothered by bugs bring along your bug spray 🪰.
Lunch will be catered by (TBA) with water and sparkling water available.
In the afternoon we will have some herbal tea and relax by the river. Bring your knitting or work on any project you like, including the ones you worked on today.
